Lidl has revealed a list of locations for potential new stores in the south, which includes Salisbury.

The supermarket, which has around 376,000 employees globally, currently operates over 12,200 stores and more than 220 logistics centres and warehouses in 31 countries.

Lidl currently offers more than 2,000 products and has raised over £4 million raised for the NSPCC.

It comes after plans for a new ASDA in Salisbury were approved last month.

Salisbury also has a LIDL on Hatches Lane, off Southampton Road, which first opened in February 2011 followed by its’ competitor Aldi London road in July 2016.

The new store will provide new jobs.

Richard Taylor, Lidl GB Chief Development Officer said: “With an exceptional store network and our laser focus on operational excellence, we’re welcoming more customers through our doors than ever before, which positions us perfectly for continued expansion.

“As we celebrate our 30th year, our commitment to ensuring that all households across the country have access to high quality produce at affordable prices is stronger than ever. We’re planning to open hundreds of new Lidl stores but ultimately see no ceiling on our ambition or growth potential”.
