International folk duo Sons of Town Hall will be bringing their unique brand of musical storytelling to the Salisbury Arts Centre on May 4.

The pair, comprising British songwriter and producer Ben Parker and American songwriter and author David Berkeley, have garnered praise for their performances that echo the comedy of Monty Python and the melodies of Simon and Garfunkel.

The show itself is a fusion of concert and theatre, encouraging audience participation with singalongs and impromptu dancing.

Sons of Town Hall, known for their immersive performances, captivate audiences from the instant they step onto the stage, donning Victorian-era attire.

The duo weaves complex and engaging tales between songs, testing the audience's ability to distinguish fact from fiction.

Folk Radio UK lauded Sons of Town Hall for their "care and craftsmanship" while The Observer praised their "seamless vocal harmonies."

The intriguing tales that accompany their songs bear varying themes, ranging from sea voyages to desolation and betrayal.

Away from their performances, Mr Parker and Mr Berkeley are putting the final touches on their second album, set to be released this autumn.

Complementary to the album release, a 15-episode podcast will also be available, featuring each of the album's songs with a long-form narrative describing the imaginative journey that led to each song's creation.

The podcast will also feature an original score and accompanying sound effects. The duo's current tour across England and Wales has been well-received thus far, with many shows selling out.

However, there are still tickets available for the performance at Salisbury Arts Centre. For more information on Sons of Town Hall or to book tickets, visit sonsoftownhall.com or their Instagram page @sonsoftownhall.

Tickets for their performance on May 4 at 7.30pm can also be booked via the Wiltshire Creative website.
